 Benjamin D. Skolnik, Psy.D., received his Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch New England Graduate School in November, 2003, and his Doctor of Psychology degree from the same institution in November, 2005. He is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Vermont Association for Psychoanalytic Studies.

Dr. Skolnik has over five years of experience providing psychological services to people across the life-span. He has worked in community mental health centers in Maine and Vermont, and in university counseling centers in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. He has performed Psychoeducational and diagnostic evaluations, and has provided psychotherapy and crisis intervention services to adults, children, adolescents, couples, and families.

Dr. Skolnik tailors his work to meet the needs and desires of particular clients, but is particularly grounded in psychodynamic theory and practice. He is also trained in numerous other methods of psychotherapy, including humanistic and cognitive-behavioral techniques. His overall philosophy of care emphasizes a respect for the complexity of human beings and a focus on helping people to achieve more satisfying lives through better understanding of what drives them to feel and behave in the ways that they do. He has experience working with people facing a number of different concerns, and with people of all ages. Areas of particular interest include mood and anxiety disorders, relationship problems, couples’ issues, life transitions, and spiritual concerns.
